Abbeville—Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Jimmy Joseph Doucet, 77, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon William Vincent officiating the services.
Urn bearers will be Jessie Doucet and Ronald “Squeaky” Rush, Jr.
Jimmy was born in Abbeville and was a retired electrician with the City of Abbeville. He enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was known for always having a well-kept lawn.
He is survived by his siblings, Jessie J. Doucet and his wife, Elaine, and Charlene D. Swire and her husband, Rudolph; Godchildren, Corey J. Doucet, Trisha A. Duhon, Whitney J. Wood, and Tammy Breaux; nieces, Cecilia McCarra, and Jodie Smith; nephews, Troy Doucet, Todd Doucet, and Ryan Swire; special cousin, Ronald “Squeaky” Rush, Jr.; and multiple great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edes Joseph Doucet and the former Avia Peltier; and brother, Ernest J. Doucet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of services. A rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM.
