Joetter Istre

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM honoring the life of Joetter Istre, 83, who passed away on December 27, 2025, at her residence. A rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM.

Ms. Istre was a beloved French teacher who taught in Jeff Davis Parish for several years. She was known by her grandchildren as "Grannybug".

She is survived by her two children, Hermann Wiggins and Lee Wiggins (Cindy); six grandchildren, Tarra, Cassie, Leah, Casey, Briana and Jacob; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Monceaux. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cassie Marie Wiggins; her brother, John D. Istre; and her parents, Ellis and Lorena Istre.
