John Russell Boudreaux, Sr.

Abbeville-A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend François Sainte-Marie will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church honoring the life of John Russell Boudreaux, Sr., 89, who passed away on December 30, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum in Erath, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Clark, Alessio Lavino, Bryan Hood, Wes Landry, Jacob Deville and Kevin Luquette. Readers for the Mass will be Gabby Clark and Aubrey Grace Boudreaux. Gift Bearers will be Ellie Hood, Adeline-Elizabeth Hood, Morgan Clark and Samuel and Brooks Clark. 

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM The visitation will continue Saturday from 8:30 AM until the procession departs for the church at 10:45 AM. 

Russell was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden as well as his pecan and fruit orchards. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Russell was a storyteller, who enjoyed sharing stories from his childhood and “the good old days” with others. 

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Brenda Bernard Boudreaux; his daughter Carolyn B. Clark and her husband Malcolm; his son, John R. Boudreaux and his wife Tricia; his grandchildren, Ellie Hood (Bryan); Alex Clark (Morgan); Madalyn "Gabby" Clark; Aubrey Grace Boudreaux and his great grandchildren, Samuel and Brooks Clark, Adeline-Elizabeth, Laura-Catherine and Mary-Grace Hood. Also surviving are his sisters, June Boudreaux and Jan Becker. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Walter Boudreaux and Rena Dartez Boudreaux. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Judge Edwards, Eucharist Minister who would visit him weekly and Southern Grace Hospice.
