ABBEVILLE - Joy Lynn Mowry, born on March 11, 1953, in Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, in Abbeville, Louisiana, at the age of 73. Joy was a beloved mother, sister, and friend, known for her warmth and nurturing spirit.

Her love for baking and decorating cakes brought joy not only to her own household but to the wider community, as she often shared her delicious creations with friends and neighbors. Joy's unparalleled creativity and dedication to family made her a radiant presence in the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Willis and his wife, Michelle, of Clarksville, Tennessee; her daughter, Robin Willis of Abbeville, Louisiana; her beloved grandson, Benjamin Willis, her sister, Connie Newcombe and her husband, Dennis Sauer; her brothers, Donald Mowry, Scott Mowry, and Jeffrey Mowry, all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Patrick Mowry and his wife, Charity of Ridgeville, Indiana, and Kevin Mowry and his wife, Shirley, of Sterns, Kentucky. She is also survived by her nephews, Anthony Mayle and Timothy Mayle; her niece, Laura Mayle; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hannah Mayle, Harleigh Jo Mayle, Brooklyn Mayle, and Jaxon Reynolds; and her great-great-nieces and nephews, Blakleigh, Mason, Brielle, and Adrian, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson Conway Mowry Jr. and Margaret Charlene Haskell Mowry, her partner Roger Veazey, her beloved son, Kelly Eugene Willis, and her sister Kelly Delgado.

She will be buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma.
