A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM.
KK loved her family above all things! She was immensely proud of both her sons and their families. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the final pieces to complete her life’s portrait- KK’s masterpiece! Whether you were greeted with a warm hug, a cool glass of wine, or a cold beer- anyone entering KK’s home was considered family. Her smile was one that went unmatched; a true gift that coupled perfectly with her warm embrace and genuine love for a good life. KK was often surrounded by family and friends- where she found her true joy of sharing stories and making memories. KK was never one to pass up an invite or fail to invite you into her home for a gathering. Beyond her family and friends, her students were her life’s work. Raising and educating children in Kaplan and Crowley was a pleasure. Art was another love of hers, teaching many children in Cossinade summer sessions. It opened her eyes to a whole world of possibilities. She never stopped learning about art. When she was very young, she said that when I died “I would be in heaven painting butterfly wings”. Above all things, her greatest love was her husband, Luther. Their 58 years of marriage was unbreakable, KK often referred to their relationship as “truly special”. Enjoying years of joy, laughter and above all things LOVE. In recent years KK would often be seen twice a day heading to visit with Luther- never missing a chance for his warm embrace and a gentle kiss. Her love for him was never faulted and his never for her. May we all look at them as a guidance of everlasting love. As we say goodbye to KK and we look to the heavens for her painted butterflies, we find comfort in knowing that KK has not painted her final art stroke, she is now using God’s canvas to brighten all our days.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Luther Herpin of Kaplan; two sons, Jason Herpin and his wife Lori of Kaplan and Brant Herpin of Kaplan; two sisters, Janet Clark Williams and her husband Roland of Houston, TX and Sheryl Clark of South Bend, IN; one brother, William "Buz" Clark and his wife Kathy of Sulphur; a daughter-in-law, Mindy and her husband, Michael Mitchell of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Taylor Hebert, Lance Herpin (Jenna), Jade Herpin (Abby), Alex Herpin and her fiancé David Carr and Laine Herpin (Bri); and six great grandchildren, Parker Hebert, Sawyer Hebert, Piper Hebert, Jane Catherine Herpin, Elizabeth Herpin and Stella Herpin, along with host of nieces, nephews, dear family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Clark and the former Josie Paternostro.
Per KK's request, in lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in the memory of KK Herpin to McNeese Alumni Association, PO Box 90775, Lake Charles, LA 70609.
