You know the phrase “man of few words.” Well to know Kevin was to know that was totally not him. If he wasn’t talking about his favorite buddies at SISC, how much he loved his family, or his newfound love of whiskey, he was asking about you to get to know you. His love language was people. As a salesman, you’d think “well duh!”. But he was different. He brought something to the table that not many others could. He was fun, laughter, and the life of any party. His love and smile were contagious. Many people knew him as “crazy Kev”. But in the quiet moments, he spoke of his dreams and ambitions. He’d put on classic country and dance with his wife in the kitchen or patio. He’d hold his kids tight and told them he loved them. He cherished the moments he spent with his grandchildren calling them his “little wrecking balls”. He’d help his mom and mother-in-law with the little things as they needed. And all though he always teased or joked or gave you a hard time, there was deep love behind it all. He also loved his work family, as many of his at home discussions started with “bruh...” followed by some story that would make his kids laugh and his wife say “Kevin James!!”. To know Kevin was to love him. Remembering you will be the easiest thing to do. We pray you fish amongst the stars and watch over us as we carry on your legacy as we raise our glass for one last “cheers!” We love you.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tricia Trahan Manceaux; daughter, Taylor LaViolette (Jacques) of Kaplan; son, Justin Manceaux (Felton Jones, III) of Maurice; grandchildren, Parker LaViolette and Ella LaViolette; mother, Brenda Manceaux; and mother-in-law, Janette Trahan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Adra Manceaux.
