Laura Mae Hebert Lege, 86, departed her Earthly life on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.
Funeral services officiated by Deacon Bryan Istre will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 311 4th St, Gueydan, LA. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM, with interment at Gueydan Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Lege, Dustin Cormier, Aaron Cormier, David Broussard, Christopher Whaley, and Lucas Hebert; honorary pallbearers will be Bennett Harrington and Richard Hebert.
Laura was married to the love of her life, Jimmy Clyde "JC" Lege, for over 63 years, before he preceded her in death. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. Many will remember her for her service to Gueydan's St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church community as a Catechist and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She also proudly served the Gueydan community as a substitute teacher for many years through the Vermilion Parish School Board, specifically at Jesse Owens Elementary School and Gueydan High School.
She is survived by her four children, Bradley "T-Brad" Harrington (Joy), Rachel Lege Miller (David), Ryan Lege, and Raina Lege Whaley (Robert); seven grandchildren, Doreen Harrington Fontenot, Bennett Harrington, Dustin Cormier, Aaron Cormier, Amanda Cormier Broussard, Christopher Whaley and Justin Lege; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her sisters, Joan Hebert Simon and Jane Hebert Robichaux; as well as three sisters-in-love, Margie Lege McFarland, Eloise Lege Golden and Brenda Lege LeMaire; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Hebert, Sr. and Vernice Trahan Hebert; her husband, JC Lege; her brother, Otis "T-Boy" Hebert, Jr.; one sister-in-love, Betty Lege Dillon; and one great-granddaughter, Alyvia Faith Cormier.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Gueydan Memorial Guest Home and Dr. Scott Bergeaux for their care and compassion.
