Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church honoring the life of Lersey J. Landry, 89, who died Friday, June 28, 2024 at Residence. Reverend Stephen Sahayaraj Irudayasamy will officiate the services.
Visiting hours will be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 1:45 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:30 AM.
Lersey was a skilled carpenter for more than 50 years. Known for his specialty in making custom cabinets, Lersey built countless custom homes throughout the Acadiana area, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.
He was more than a master craftsman; he was a beloved husband, daddy, and Paw. Lersey cherished recording old-time music and spent countless hours enjoying television. His hands were never idle, as he was always building something, infusing his projects with love and meticulous attention to detail. His sense of humor was infectious, and he loved to joke around, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.
Lersey's dedication to his family and craft was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the beautiful homes he built and the hearts of his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Myrna G. Landry; one son, Keith Landry and his wife Lorena of Duson; two daughters, Julie Landry and her spouse Chris Sonnier of Kaplan, and Renee Landry of Spring TX; five grandchildren, Gerad Landry II, Jereme Hebert, Hannah McMellon, Tylon Broussard and Corey Brewer; 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Landry and Elbae Sonnier Landry, two sisters, Jane Simon and Lula Matthews; one brother, Murphy Landry, and one grandson, Casy Broussard.
