It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Hebert, a cherished resident of Abbeville, Louisiana, who departed this life peacefully on September 30, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 20, 1942, in Abbeville, Linda was the beloved daughter of Gladston Hebert and Beulah Guzardo.
Linda's journey in life was marked by resilience and determination. An alumna of the Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, she developed an unwavering spirit and a commitment to living life to the fullest.
Despite facing the challenge of deaf blindness, Linda learned braille and mobility skills that allowed her to navigate the world with grace. She continued to work and contribute to her family and community long after her vision was lost.
A devoted homemaker, Linda dedicated her life to raising her four daughters, including her surviving daughters, Lynn LeBlanc, Monica Griffith, Faye Saltzman, and Lisa Fritz; twelve grandchildren, Donna Broussard, Larrie LeBlanc, Paige LeBlanc, Joshua Griffith, Jackie Prejean, Dave Griffith, Tiffany Saltzman, Cory Saltzman, Ryan Saltzman, Carlton Broussard, Bryle Fritz, and Alex Fritz; eighteen great grandchildren, Nigel, Jerell, Amya, Alyssa, Gracie, Isabella, Gavin, Chandler, Leo, Madison, Ansley, Layla, Isabella, Lauren, Elias, Hayden, Olivia, and Amelia; and three great-great grandchildren, Ryan, Savannah, and Sebastain.
She took great pride in her family, nurturing a loving and supportive environment that instilled strong values in her children. Her talents extended to swimming, sewing, letter-writing, crocheting, and bowling, illustrating her vibrant personality and zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lamar Griffith; and parents, Gladston Joseph Hebert and the former Beulah Marie Guzardo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Reverend Daniel Picard officiating. Dhe will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life and legacy, and to share in a time of remembrance and reflection. A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, on Friday, October 03, 2025, from 9:00 am until 1:45 pm when the procession will depart for church. At 1:00 pm, family and friends are invited to share breif remarks and memories about Linda.
Linda Marie Hebert will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her warmth, and her unwavering love for her family and a good margarita. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared in her lifetime.
