Abbeville - A memorial service officiated by Rev. Emmanuel Fernandez will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, honoring the life of Loretta Cessac Guidry, 87, who passed away on August 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Loretta Cessac Guidry was born on September 4, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, love for family, and passion for gardening, crafting, and collecting antiques. Loretta was a devoted homemaker who took immense pride in her 100-year-old home, a space lovingly remodeled by her husband and son. Her house was not just a dwelling; it was a testament to the love and care she poured into her family and her passions. An active and independent woman, Loretta was known for her outgoing personality and hard-working nature, having lived through the challenges of the Great Depression, which shaped her conservative values and strong work ethic.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM.

She is survived by her daughter, LaNell Guidry; son, Tatum Guidry; grandchildren, Lacie Colley Domingue (Trey), Jamie Carrier (Jake), Bonnie Colley, and Brylan Guidry; great grandchildren, Cally Domingue, Kasey Domingue, Ahndi Hebert, Isamae Carrier, Jo' Haun Boudreaux, Aurora Gaspard, and Remy Guidry; great-great-grandchildren, Khalani and Nile; and her life long pet Elmo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Paul Guidry; parents, Joseph Murphy Cessac and the former, Ismae "Bonnie" Begnaud; sons, Byron Chad Guidry and Shance Raden Guidry; and sisters, Manetta Ann Guidry and JaNell Marie Bruno.
