Lurcy "Red" Dartez

Funeral services officiated by Deacon William "Billy" Vincent will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan honoring the life of Lurcy "Red" Dartez, 70, who passed away on January 17, 2026. He will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Dartez, Blake Dartez, Zachary Vaughn, Dakota Dartez, Tyler Hebert and Kade David. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Lavergne, Gavin Lavergne, Dustin Hebert and Braden Dartez.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 10:30 AM.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Dartez; his children, Chasity Miller (Randall), Paul Dartez (Tracey), Blake Dartez (Bobbie), Patrick Hebert (Jennifer), Nicole Hebert, and Crystal Lavergne (Glenn); 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three brothers, Murphy Dartez, Gerald Dartez and Anthony LeMaire; and one sister, Mary Ryder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodule Dartez and the former Evelyn Marceaux; two brothers, Paul Elwood Dartez and John Dartez; three sisters, Letha Dartez Jordan, Laura Mae Dartez Benoit, and Leva Mae Hargrave.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lamm Hospice, Vickie Uriegas, Jada Hebert, Susan Williams and Nicole Hebert for their care and compassion during this time.
