Mary Ann Guidry

Cow Island—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July  3, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Ann Guidry, 76, who died Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

Mary Ann was a true blessing to all who knew and loved her. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.  She loved to dance with her husband Lovelace and playing cards. She loved her family unconditionally and wholeheartedly. She had the kindest heart and sweetest spirit. Mary passed with the word of the Lord in her ear and a smile on her face.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lovelace Guidry of Forked Island; one son, Clayton Guidry and his wife, Clarissa of Kaplan; four daughter, Marella Roy of Forked Island, Rebecca Abshire and her husband, Claude of Kaplan, Velma LeBlanc and her husband, Jason of Kaplan and Melissa Guidry of Forked Island; one son-in-law, Todd Broussard of Forked Island; five sisters, Shirley Schexnider of Kaplan, Hazel Langlinais of Kaplan, Rita Delcambre of New Iberia, Cecile Suire of Forked Island and Lori Viator of New Iberia; three brothers, Robert "Bob" Marceaux of Maurice, Lawrence "Bib" Marceaux of Forked Island and Larry Marceaux of Maurice; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Garland Joseph Guidry; one daughter, Rachael Guidry Broussard; her parents, Ellis Marceaux and the former Velma Abshire; and one brother, Ellis Marceaux, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, July  2, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 3, 2021. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 2, 2021.
