Mavis Touchet Mallet

ABBEVILLE—Funeral services honoring the life of Mavis Touchet Mallet, 94, will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home 209 S. Saint Charles St. Abbeville, with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating. Mavis passed away on Saturday October 24, 2026, and will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Paul Mausoleum, 515 Jacqulyn St. Abbeville, LA. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Austin Abshire, Bo Lancon, Jacob Richard and John Thibeaux, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:30 AM until the service time. A rosary will be prayed at 12:30 PM.

Mavis was a sweet, quiet, and gentle soul with a kind heart and humble spirit. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone and always thought of others before herself.

In her younger years, Mavis enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, and painting ceramic figurines. Alongside her beloved husband, Sidney, she built a life centered around love, family, and hard work. Together, they owned a station where Sidney repaired radiators, and he enjoyed shrimping at the camp in his spare time.

Affectionately known as “Maw Maw,” Mavis shared a special bond with her family. Her daughter, Vickie, lovingly cared for her over the past 20 years, and she was blessed with the love and devotion of her family throughout her life.

Mavis’s life was a beautiful reminder that love does not have to be loud to leave a lasting impression. Sometimes, the quietest souls leave the deepest marks on our hearts. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and lovingly remembered.

Mavis is survived by her son, Bobby D. Mallet; daughter, Vickie A. Benoit; sister, Edley Broussard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney P. Mallet, her parents, Joachin Touchet and Evella Gaspard Touchet, son-in-law Randall Benoit.
