Kaplan, La - A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Mikel Polson will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mayo Suire Jr., 73, who passed away on July 9, 2025. God called him home during family prayer at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette, La.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025. Burial will follow at Petry Cemetery.
Mayo made a career in the Oil Industry as a Roustabout. He loved to take walks, mow the lawn, and play marbles. Mayo could be seen as both the shy type and the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cecile Marceaux Suire; one daughter, Amber Romeo and her husband Aaron; one son John "Bubba" Trahan Jr. and his wife Jennifer; one sister, Mary Jane Richard; four godchildren, Jonathan "Shane" Vincent, Alvin Stelly, Robert K. Marceaux, and Melissa Guidry; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mayo Suire Sr. and the former Louise Rung; two brothers, Clifford Suire and Dewey "Dewitt" Suire; two sisters, Barbara Vincent and Rosetta Menard; and many other beloved souls.
Pallbearers will be Robert K Marceaux, Todd Marceaux, Jonathan Vincent, Carter Trahan, Jacque Vincent, and Kevin Constantine.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Viator and Brailen Marceaux.
