Abbeville-It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Melisa Ann Wordell Stanley, 59, who passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Calcutta House.

Heaven gained a selfless and caring soul. Melisa was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend. As a nurse, she put the healing of others above her own with unmatched dedication. Melisa's fight and determination will live on in every soul she touched. With all our love, she can finally spread her wings and truly fly.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-two years, Jerry E. Stanley II; son, Brian Wordell; daughters, Rebecca Stanley, and Kaylyn Broussard and her husband, Carlton Broussard Jr.; grandchildren, Connor, Amelia, Elijah, Charlotte, Isabella, Lauren, and Elias; siblings, Elizabeth Guarino, Ben Matthews, and Stephanie Matthews; stepmother, Barbara Fiero.
