ABBEVILLE – Michael Chris Labit, 67, passed away peacefully, at his residence on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Funeral services officiated by Deacon William Vincent, held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 S. Saint Charles St. Abbeville, honoring the life of Michael Chris Labit 67. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Trent Touchet, Brennan Touchet, Brandon Labit, Ryan Pommier, Mitch Pommier and Landon Hebert.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home 209 S. Saint Charles St. Abbeville on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of the services.

Mike Labit was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Mike was married to Christine Arceneaux Labit for twenty-three years. Mike worked at Blacks Pump and Water Well Service for twenty-five years alongside his dad Jessie Labit, son Brandon Labit and Uncle Danny Fields. Old customers to this day still call his phone asking for help and would send someone out or talk them through it. Mike loved the smell of Mom’s cooking, listening to music, riding motorcycles, racing trucks, hunting, fishing being on the water, driving his truck, where it didn’t matter, liked being at Puppie’s Shop. Talking with Mr. Russel and the barber shop, loved a house full of people with music, cooking, watching grand kids, shooting skeet, hunt, bonfires, old dance clubs, Blues Music in New Orleans and Jazz. Mike lived in the moment and planned anything ahead of time he hated. Mike was always quick to help anyone. He raised his kids, stepchildren, grandchildren teaching us whatever he could. Anytime we needed him he was always there.

Mike is survived by his children, Christy Michelle Thomas and her husband Luke, and Brandon Labit; step-daughter, Crystal L. Duplantis and her husband Kendall; grandchildren, Trent Touchet (finance Abbie Mouton), Brennan Touchet (wife Aime), Kylie Touchet, Taylor Labit, Gracie Labit, Mallerie Labit, Jessie Thomas, Jake Labit, and Emma Duplantis; and great granddaughter, Blakely Melancon.

Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Christine A. Labit; parents, Jessie Labit and Lois Fields Labit; paternal grandparents, Wallace Labit and Gertrude Labit; maternal grandparents, William Fields and Laura Fields; brother, Darren Labit; sister, Karen Pommier; and step-son, David Touchet.
