Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, whose life was centered around his family. He was the kind of man who gave his all to the people he loved, always putting others before himself. Known affectionately by many as “Poppa Mike”. He enjoyed the simple joys of life of fishing, cast netting for shrimp, crabbing, and spending time at the casino, hoping to hit that jackpot. He also enjoyed cooking for his family, will forever cherish the meals he prepared with love, knowing no one will ever quite make them the way he did.

Michael truly lived for his family. During his retirement, he and his wife spent their days babysitting children, caring for them from infancy until they started school. Over the years, countless children passed through their home, each one loved and cared for as if they were his own grandchildren. He was deeply loved by many and will be remembered as “Poppa Mike” to all who knew him. His kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Myrna Hebert Landry; his children, Mia Landry Broussard and her husband James, Marla Landry, Mallory Landry Clark and her husband Brennen, and Matthew Landry and his companion Heather Hutchinson; his cherished grandchildren, Grant Landry, Emilee Schexnider, Hudson Broussard, Malaya Broussard, Rylee Eritano, Harley Tucker, and Jase Tucker; his sister, Lisa Landry Touchet and her husband Bernie; along with his godchildren, Abby Schexnider Savoie and Simone Touchet. Michael will also be fondly remembered by their beloved dog, Daisy, who brought joy and companionship into their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Huey and Beverly Campbell Landry; his in-laws, Paul and Helen Leblanc Hebert; his sister-in-law, Brenda Hebert Guerin; and his niece, Bridget Hebert Guidry.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all whose lives he touched.
