Obituary

A million lights are dancing and there you are, a shooting star

An everlasting world and you're here with me, eternally

Xanadu, 1980

Abbeville-  Morgan Paige Ramke, beloved bringer of light, passed away suddenly from this Earth on October 20, 2026 with her brother Ian by her side. She was 29 years old, but possessed a timeless soul.

Born on January 29, 1997 to her parents Dona and Sean Ramke, Morgan lived her entire life in Vermilion Parish, between Erath, Mouton Cove, and Abbeville.

From birth, Morgan embodied goodness. Her personality was bright as the sun, and she naturally showed true love to everyone she met. She was known to be selfless with her generosity, and was an unmatched gift-giver. She genuinely cared for the world around her, and played an enormous role in making it a better place for us all.

Morgan loved her family immensely, including her chosen family of friends that she made along her way. She took time to nurture her two younger brothers, Collin and Ian, by paying special attention to their own interests and individual natures. She cherished spending time with her family, passing the day simply by telling stories and sharing love.

Morgan was known for her beautiful singing voice, having earned numerous awards and honors for her talent while in school. She was a natural songbird from a very young age, with an impressive repertoire. Her creativity extended beyond her voice, as she was also a skillful visual artist who painted often for her loved ones.

Morgan was loved greatly by her coworkers and community at both of her workplaces, Abbeville General Hospital and The Stage Karaoke Bar in Lafayette. She was a helper, a hard worker, and her tremendous gifts for empathy and compassion will never be forgotten – her legacy of kindness will live eternally.

Morgan is survived by her parents Sean and Dona Ramke (formerly Broussard), her younger brothers Collin and Ian Ramke, her grandmothers Helen Broussard and Gloria Ramke, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Robert Broussard and Louis Ramke, and her faithful canine companion Max.

Friends and family of Morgan will gather at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville to honor her memory on Sunday, October 25 from 4 pm until 9 pm, with a rosary recitation at 7 pm. Visitation will resume Monday, October 26 at 8 am until a 12:45 pm departure for her funeral service at the Abbeville United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm.

In Morgan’s memory, her family requests that you share as much love and light with the people around you as often and as fiercely as you can. And don’t forget to dance to the beat of your own heart.
