Nell Suire

A mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Suresh Mathangi will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026. at Saint Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Nell Suire, 72, who passed away on February 07, 2026, at Our Lady of Lords Regional Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Saint Anne's Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Mouton, Austin Mouton, Hunter Mouton, Drake Abshire, Hayes Abshire, Brennan Broussard and Aiden Clostio. 

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM till 9:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 12:30 PM. 

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Broussard of Forked Island; Rayburn Mouton (wife Sue) of Parachute, Colorado and Daleand Mouton II (wife Kaysie) of Cow Island; five sisters, Lucy Sagrera of 7th Ward Esther, Melba Gaspard of Forked Island, Verlan LeMaire of Lafayette, Rita LeMaire of Rayne, and Priscilla Cormier of Forked Island; seven grandchildren, Drake Abshire, Hayes Abshire, Hunter Mouton, Trevor Mouton, Tyra Mertell, Ashtin Nguyen, and Austin Mouton; eight grandchildren R.J., Emorie, Violet, Eli, Ennia, Oona, Ellanore, and Kylan. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell Suire; her parents, Philip Gaspard and the former Evelyn Bodin; her sisters, Audrey Gaspard and Hazel Touchet; her two brothers, James Gaspard and Flemon Gaspard. 

Nell’s love for life was contagious and those close to her knew that she lived her life with a smile. She was the rock and cornerstone in her family. Her love for her family was front and center throughout her life. In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time sewing, holidays with her family, and of course, dropping everything to spend time with any of her grand and great grandchildren.
