Born July 5, 1935, she fell in love and married her husband, Wilbert (T-Will) Gaspard. They had six daughters and built a strong life together. Norma spent her life taking care of others, whether it was her husband, children, parents, or in-laws. Her love was often shown through a warm meal prepared in her kitchen, a comforting word, or simply being there whenever someone needed her. The memories she created will be treasured forever.

Many knew Norma and her husband as the proud owners of the Rock-a-bye, where she touched countless lives through her hard work and welcoming spirit. She had a gift for making people feel at home and was happiest surrounded by family, friends, and laughter. Norma was an excellent pool player and could often be found on the dance floor. She was a great dancer.

She found joy working in her yard and tending to her flowerbeds. She was also an exceptional cook, whose meals brought family together around the table and created countless cherished memories.

For many years, Norma also drove a special education school bus. She loved the children she transported and cared for them as if they were her own. She looked forward to seeing their smiling faces each day and took great pride in making sure they were safe.

Norma was very proud of her daughters and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Peggy St. Romain (Chris) of Kaplan, Mamie Babineaux (Gary) of Cow Island, Charlotte Dartez (Francis) of Kaplan, Menette LaPointe (Neil) of Kingsland, GA, and her son-in-law, Steve Hebert of Cow Island. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as 4 siblings, Della Schexnyder, Vernal Gaspard, Mae Rose Gaspard, and Oran Gaspard (Betty).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Gaspard, her parents, Whitney and Eumia Gaspard, 2 daughters, Little Sister and Lerdy Hebert, a great grandchild, Wells Zaunbrecher, a great-great grandchild, Marshall Frick, and 2 brothers, Wilson Gaspard and Herbert Landry.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and aides at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for the exceptional care they gave to Norma. Their patience, kindness, compassion, and genuine love, brought comfort, not only to her, but to our entire family. We will always be grateful for the dignity, tenderness, and respect with which they cared for our mother, and we will forever hold them in our hearts.
