Paul Emery Sellers

Paul Emery Sellers, 93 years, died Friday, May 9, 2025 at his residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Francois Sainte-Marie was held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. He was laid to rest at St Paul Cemetery.

Paul’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God.

He served his country in the Naval Reserve for four years and then as Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for an additional four years.

Paul was a dedicated math and science teacher for middle school students for 34 years and had many fond memories of his students and teaching career.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and spending time at his country home in Abbeville where he was born and raised.

He is survived by his three daughters, Karen Sellers of Arnaudville, Sharon Winders and her husband, Bert of Lafayette, and Lisa Draughon and her husband, Steve of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gloria White Sellers, his parents Leoscar Sellers and the former Bernadette Luquette, his brother Dalton Sellers his sister, Rena Sellers Hebert and his grandson, Dustin Cade Draughon, M.D.

A heartfelt appreciation is made to Heart of Hospice and Mary Broussard for their tender care, compassion and guidance given during our time of need.
