Gueydan—Randy "Speck" Plaisance passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at the age of 64. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his daughter, Nycole Plaisance Carlin and her husband, Ryan of New Iberia; two grandchildren, Hogan Wilmore and Layne Carlin of New Iberia; siblings Debra Abshire and her husband, Gary of Wright, Susan LaComb and her husband, Nelson of Gueydan, Steven Plaisance and his wife, Carol of Gueydan, Robert Plaisance and his wife, Stacey of Gueydan; and godchildren Tye Plaisance, Rachael Simon Bertrand, Jessie Vines, and Justin Petry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludring John Plaisance and the former Mickey LaBauve; and his former wife, R.L. Lopez.
