Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Allen Duhon, Jr., who departed this life on June 19, 2026, at the age of 46.

Ray was born on June 13, 1980, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Ray Allen Duhon, Sr. and Tonja Arceneaux. He brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone who knew him. Known for his kind heart, sense of humor, generosity, and determination, Ray touched countless lives through his friendship, compassion, and love for family. He gave with his whole heart and never expected anything in return.

Above all else, Ray treasured his role as a father. His daughter was the center of his world, and he found his greatest joy in sharing life's special moments with her. His love for her was unwavering, and the bond they shared was one he cherished deeply.

Ray was married to Ashlie Mallet-Duhon, the love of his life. Their paths first crossed when they were fifteen years old, and they shared a close friendship for the next ten years. As life often does, it led them down different roads, where they built lives, families, and memories of their own.

In 2023, life brought them back together, and they quickly realized the special bond they had always shared. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Together they weathered life's challenges and celebrated life's blessings, always standing by one another through it all.

Their love story was uniquely their own and was a God-centered relationship built on a foundation of friendship, understanding, and unwavering devotion. Though not everyone understood their journey, those who knew them best recognized the depth of their connection. Ashlie was the love of his life, and he will forever remain her true love.

Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, traveling, and spending time with family. He took great pride in serving his country as a United States Marine. Whether helping others, pursuing his passions, or spending time with those he loved, Ray lived with a spirit that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Ray is survived by his wife, Ashlie Mallet-Duhon; daughter, Malanna Rae Duhon; stepdaughter, Rossiland Thibodeaux; two sisters, Kristy Duhon, and Marie Duhon Ortiz; brother, Christopher Duhon; honorary siblings, Brandon Dartez, Brittany Dartez, and Ryan Thompson; honorary parents, Tammy Thompson and David Thompson; uncle, Rickey Duhon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Allen Duhon, Sr. and the former Tonja Arceneaux; grandparents, Lenix Duhon and the former Nunia Abshire; nephew, Connor Kemp; uncle, Chad Duhon; and stepdaughter, Maci Short.

Though his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will remain a lasting gift to all who knew him. Life was not always easy for Ray, and he faced many struggles with quiet strength and perseverance. While his journey was marked by challenges, it was also marked by love, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. Those who knew and loved him find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and resting in the arms of his Savior.

Service details will be announced by the family.
