Rodney Gerard Naquin

ABBEVILLE - A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, honoring the life of Rodney Gerard Naquin, 61, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Reverend Daniel Picard will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be the following day, Wednesday, August 20, at Westlawn Mausoleum 12:00 PM at 1225 Whitney Avenue Gretna, LA 70056.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 3:00 PM. 

Rodney was born in Marrero, LA on June 17, 1964. He worked in Outside Sales at Wesco Distribution in Carencro. He took much pride in his work and truly enjoyed getting to know his clients. Many of his co-workers and clients were like family to him. Every year around the holidays, Rodney got great joy out of delivering his wife’s delicious homemade carrot cake cupcakes to his clients to thank them for their business and friendship. Rodney was a lover of the outdoors and an avid deer hunter. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp in Mississippi and caring for a variety of animals at home. Rodney never met a stranger and truly had the gift of gab. If you ever spent any amount of time with him, you could expect a good laugh. Rodney looked forward to his Friday date nights with his wife when they would visit one of their local favorite restaurants.

Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Vanessa Vaughan Naquin; his mother Gloria Marie Dewey Naquin; His son, Trey Michael Naquin (Amber); his daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Naquin; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Larry Naquin (Angelique); and Brian Naquin.

Rodney is preceded in death by his father, Allen Joseph Naquin.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
