Terry James Gaspard

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry James Gaspard, who left us peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on November 17, 1964, in Kaplan, LA, Terry made his home in Abbeville, LA, where he cultivated a life filled with love, family, and cherished friendships. Terry's dedication to his career was inspiring to all, having spent 28 years with Acadian Contractors, where he proudly held the position of Vice President of Gulf Coast Operations. He was a significant driving force at work, but his proudest role was as a grandfather. Nothing brought him more joy than his grandkids, Thatcher Luke Bennett and Zoe Dartez, who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter. Additionally, he realized a dream by becoming the proud owner of Holly Beach Memories R.V. Park, a place that brought joy to many.

Terry is survived by his two wonderful daughters, Amber Gaspard and her husband, Lucas Dartez, and Brittney Bennett and her husband, Dominic. He also leaves behind his beloved partner, Wanda Stelly whom he shared a beautiful bond, and his two brothers, Gary Gaspard and his wife, Ronda, and Scotty Gaspard and his wife, Tricia.

Terry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Christine Gaspard, and his parents, Harris J. Gaspard and the former Jo Ann Hollier.

He was a man of extraordinary character and wisdom, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support. Family was everything to him, and his heart was filled with pride for every moment spent alongside them-whether it was at Holly Beach, hunting, or traveling.

Visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on January 30, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a rosary service at 6:30 PM led by St. Annes Mens Ultreya Group. Saturday, January 31, 2026, visitation from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM, when the procession will depart for the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island. Terry will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery.

We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Terry Gaspard, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
