Erath—Funeral services officiated by Deacon Tim Marcantel will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, honoring the life of Terry Mouton, 63, who passed away at his sister’s residence on Monday November 2, 2026. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Leewood J. Mouton, Tyler J. Hernandez, Joseph A. Gilbert, Aiden J. Mouton, Slaide J. Mouton and Lance V. Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Karsen J. Deville, Khi P. Deville and Kohyn D. Deville.

Visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM until time of service, and a rosary to be prayed at 1:30 PM.

Terry was born on July 10, 1963, in Erath, LA the late Wilson Joseph Mouton and Shirley Ann Pontiff Mouton. He was a man who knew how to enjoy life and make the most of every moment. Whether he was trying his luck at the casino, cheering from the stands at a high school football game, listening to live music, shooting pool, or enjoying his favorite French music, he was happiest doing the things he loved. He had a special gift for making people laugh, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. His best friend, Bryan Johnson “the preacher”, held a special place in his heart and was a cherished part of his life.

Terry is survived by his mother, Shirley Ann Pontiff Mouton; sister, Vickie A. Hernandez and her husband Jermone; Stella A. Bourgeois and her husband Dennis; Cheryl D. Gary and Christine A. Duplantis and her husband Timothy. His brother Leewood J. Mouton and his wife Tracie.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Joseph Mouton; maternal grandparents, Ida Duhon Pontiff and Louis Pontiff and his paternal grandparents, Lydia Decoux Mouton and Lee Mouton.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Southern Grace Hospice for the care they gave Terry.
