Verlon Broussard Trahan

ABBEVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Verlon Broussard Trahan, 96, who passed away on June 6, 2025 at Pelican Pointe Nursing Home. Reverend Daniel Picard will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Kit Trahan, Nicholas Trahan, and Brett Trahan. Gift bearers will be her granddaughters, Christie LeBlanc, Jamie Hebert, and Emily Gaspard. Those serving as pallbearers will be Brent Duhon, Kit Trahan, Nicholas Trahan, Brett Trahan, Kasey Meaux, and Spencer Gaspard. Burial will follow at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 11:45 AM, when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM by Leah Trahan.

She is survived by her two sons, Sammy Trahan and his wife, Katie of Abbeville, and Bryan Trahan and his wife, Donna of Maurice; two daughters, Dean Duhon and her husband, Jim of Delcambre, and Claudette Meaux and her husband, Neil of Meaux; sister, Leanne B. Landry; sister-in-law, Judy Broussard; brother-in-law, J.C. Trahan; and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Broussard and the former Elgine Dartez; husband, Eltes Joseph Trahan; brother, Russell Broussard; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
