Verna Mary Foster

ABBEVILLE- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Verna Mary Foster. Born on March 1, 1930, in Bancker, LA, Verna peacefully departed from this world on October 25, 2024. A Graveside Service to honor Verna Mary Foster's life will be held at Esther Community Cemetery in Esther, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 10:30 am. In accordance with her wishes, Verna will be laid to rest in a serene burial, marking the conclusion of a life well-lived. Deacon William Vincent will officiate at the funeral service.

Verna dedicated many years of her life to the food service industry, working as a waitress with a level of care and attention that endeared her to all who crossed her path. Her commitment to her work and her customers was evident in every interaction, making her a cherished figure in the establishments she served.

She was survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Pinckard Foster; mother, Emeritt Foster; sisters, Lilly Lee, Nita Parks, Dorothy LeBlanc, Bernice Fine, and Ella Bourque; and brothers, Carlton Foster; and Pinkard Foster, Jr.
