Wade James Cormier

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Stephen S. Irudayasamy will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Wade James Cormier, 74, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Quinton Abshire, JoBob Daigle, Hayden Daigle, Hunter Abshire, Blake Pearson, and Greyson Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lance Pearson, Mason Smith, Donald Cormier, Kevin Cormier, and Tanner Lanier. Readers will be Tisha Meaux, Donna Maples, and Mona Mouton.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 11:00 AM. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda M. Cormier, his son, Quinton Abshire (Wanda) of Crowley; his daughters, Daina Daigle (JoBob) of Iowa, Danielle Cormier (Tisha Meaux) of Lafayette, and Maegan Cormier of Lafayette; his sister, Wanda Melancon (Rayland) of Gueydan; his brother, Donald Cormier (Jessie) of Gueydan; his ten grandchildren, Hayden Daigle, Brynlee Smith, Hannah Lanier, Alana Abshire, Hunter Abshire, Tia Nguyen, Tayte Tran, Aleigha Leblanc, Greyson Martin, and Amelia Brown; and his two great-grandchildren, Ian Lanier and Ella-Rae Lanier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Cormier and the former Everna McGee.
