Wilbert J. Potier

Wilbert James Potier, 75, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Landmark of Rayne. 

Wilbert was a man who loved the simple things in life, cooking, baking bread, and spending his time in Little Chenier. He never met a stranger and always welcomed everyone with a smile. He loved his family dearly. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Potier; his three children, Christopher Potier (Cathy) of Lafayette, Gregory Potier, and Leslie Campbell (Lance) of Kaplan; one stepson, Jeff Abshire (Rhiannon) of Kaplan; the mother of his children, Sherron Saltzman of Kaplan; nine grandchildren, Lauren Theriot, Mallory Campbell, Grant Campbell, Anna Campbell, Amber Patton, Zach Potier, Kitt Potier, Della Lemoine, and John Caffery Abshire; and two great-grandchildren, August and Weston Patton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Potier and Dorothy Hines Potier; one brother, Daryl Potier; and two stepdaughters, Kimberly Abshire and Charmaine LaFleur.
