Wilda "Ponkie" Thibodeaux

ABBEVILLE - Wilda, known to all as "Ponkie", passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 1, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, honoring the life of Wilda Robicheaux Thibodeaux. Deacon William Vincent will officiate the service. 

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM until time of services.

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth A. Vincent; daughter, Barbara T. Bourque (O.J.); sons, Christopher J. Thibodeaux and Michael J. Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Monica A. Thibodeaux, Robert P. Thibodeaux, Jr., Travis R. Thibodeaux, Gregory J. Thibodeaux, Natalie von Wenckstern, Jonathon C. Thibodeaux, Jr., Angelle T. Harper, Bradley J. Lambert, Matthew J. Bourque, Brooke B. Edgar, Ashley T. Bila, Tiffany M. Thibodeaux, Christopher T. B. Thibodeaux, Madison Thibodeaux, Nathaniel Dickey-Danzoy, and David Dickey-Danzoy; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney Joseph Robicheaux and Hilda Theall Robicheaux; sister, Seda R. Guidry, and her husband, Louis B. Thibodeaux, Sr.; daughter, Melissa A. Thibodeaux; sons, Louis B. Thibodeaux, Jr., Robert P. Thibodeaux, Sr., Jonathan C. Thibodeaux, Sr., and Nickolas L. Thibodeaux; grandson, Jason C. Hebert; and great-granddaughter, Lena Ann Thibodeaux.

Ponkie had a strong faith in Jesus and was a friend to all, as she especially cherished all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
