Yvonne Marie Viator

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend William Schambough will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, honoring the life of Yvonne Marie Viator, 67, who passed away on February 14, 2026, at her residence on Church Point. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Milton. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Viator, Michael Sepulvado, Devin Jones, John Breaux, Tanner Meche, and Henry Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Colin Jones and Jennifer Sepulvado standing in for Cody Michael Viator.

Yvonne Marie Viator was a joyful soul who found beauty in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for David Austin rose gardens, often finding peace among their delicate blooms. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved nieces, whether shopping together or sharing laughter-filled moments.

A proud graduate of Comeaux High School, Class of 1977, Yvonne embraced life with a spirited heart and an infectious sense of humor. She loved to dance, bringing light and energy to every room she entered. Above all, Yvonne wanted to be remembered with joy, not tears. She believed wholeheartedly in the promise of heaven and took comfort in knowing she would be welcomed among the angels and saints. Her laughter, love, and unwavering faith leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Milton), 100 E. Milton Ave, Lafayette, LA 70508, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be held at 10:30 AM.

Survivors include one brother, Daniel Viator and his wife, Pamela Auster Viator of Mire; one niece, Jennifer Sepulvado and her husband, Michael Sepulvado; and two great nieces, Ava and Sadie Sepulvado. She was Godmother to Nicole Meche, Jennifer Sepulvado, Ava Sepulvado, Sadie Sepulvado, Alyse Sonnier, Tanner Meche, Joel Thomas Lafleur, Emily Montet, and Jessie Montet.

Preceded in death by parents, Melba Jean Rodriquez Viator and Albert Viator; and one nephew, Cody Michael Viator. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dolly, Kaycie, Crystal, Nikki, Monica, and Marsha from Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care for Yvonne. Special appreciation is also extended to her sister-in-law, Pamela, for her unwavering support and dedication in caring for Yvonne during her final days.
